  • James Bond 007

Also known as 007, James Bond is the most famous secret agent. The character was brought to life in 1953 in Jamaica by former British spy Ian Fleming. Produced by EON Production - part of the Danjaq company headed by Albert R. Broccoli - the James Bond saga began on the big screen in 1962: here you can see the original vintage posters of the most cult spy film series of the 20th century and its inimitable hero, James Bond 007

Alternately played by Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton or Roger Moore, James Bond has been the subject of no less than 26 film adaptations. At least as cult as the films, the James Bond Girls who accompany the hero on his adventures and... the credits! We owe a large part of this to John Barry, who composed eleven James Bond soundtracks. Who doesn't remember the sensual opening of Kiss from Russia, the hypnotic Goldfinger or the dazzling opening of Diamonds Forever?

The original vintage James Bond posters also reflect the mood of the films and the inimitable class of the British hero. Action, sculptural young women and black tuxedos are the order of the day for these posters, which soon display a unity of style that has become cult-like in its turn. Sometimes accompanied by glimpses of spectacular stunts or exceptional sets, these original vintage posters contribute to the creation of the James Bond myth.

From London and MI6 headquarters, equipped with his Walther PPK, with a licence to kill and a Rolex Submariner on his wrist, James Bond collects not only deadly missions, women and gadgets, but also watches. In addition to his love of danger and women, the UK's favourite spy does not hide his taste for wine and spirits. Between Grand Cru, Dom Pérignon or Bollinger champagne and the famous Vesper Martini - shaken, not stirred - Bond's excesses have never stopped him from driving his Aston Martin DB5, gambling a fortune in a casino in Dr No, flying a helicopter in Her Majesty's Secret Service, or scuba diving in Operation Thunder. Before he stubs out the last cigarette lit by his famous Dunhill lighter in 2002, Blofeld, the Spectre's fearsome leader, also predicts in You Only Live Twice: "It's not the nicotine that will kill you, Mr Bond". But in 2021, the spy is still adamant: Dying can wait.
