For young and old alike, Posterissim has put together in this category childhood memories and masterpieces of Walt Disney, one of the greatest visionaries of our time.

After the creation of the Walt Disney Company in 1923, the revolution in the world of cartoons began. More than 50 years after his death in 1966, Walt Disney is still the most Oscar-winning individual artist: 22 awards for 59 nominations. A pioneer of animation and a pioneer of dream factories, the American producer, director and screenwriter embodies his country and his era and has become a true icon of the 20th century.

Walt Disney's artistic and technical innovations made animation a major art form, bringing the great classics of literature to the big screen. From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to The Jungle Book and Fantasia, Disney also never hesitated to put his financially troubled company and its reputation at risk in the service of his utopian universe.

One of the first animated feature films in the history of cinema, Snow White was mocked at the beginning but received a standing ovation from Hollywood when it was released in 1937 and was a huge success worldwide. Jean-Jacques Launier says that "never had a cartoon aroused so much emotion". Until the 1970s, the first golden age of the Disney Studios took shape. Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, The 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book and Bambi - for which Walt Disney introduced live models of fawns into the studios - created a world of princes, princesses, talking, singing and dancing animals, animated objects, enchanted castles and terrifying villains. So many films and old posters that are today the legacy of this imaginary world, and of a storyteller who became one of the most famous film producers.

In addition to the old French and foreign posters of the greatest Disney classics, you will also find their alternative posters and original creations around other masterpieces of animated cinema.
