Original French poster from 1963 for the animated film Merlin the Enchanter of Walt Disney Studios, directed by Wolfgang Reitherman.

Adapted from the book by Terence Hanbury White published in 1938, Merlin enchants herur is the 22nd animated feature film from Disney studios. It is directed by Wolfgang Reitherman with a script written by Bill Peet. Freely inspired by the magician Merlin, a famous character from the legend of King Arthur, the film takes up usual Disney themes, the medieval world and magic.

The original poster of the film is in the vogue of what was done at Disney at the time: a total absence of sets, the representation of secondary roles... The drawing evokes the famous scene in which Merlin makes all the objects in his house get into his bag by making them smaller, only the characters in the film come out of it in a whirlwind of magic. We find the Mosquito heroes, enchanted objects including the angry little sugar bowl, as well as the other striking characters, from Madame Mim to the hungry wolf, via Hector and Kay.

Note that the name of screenwriter Bill Peet appears on the advertisement.
