Original travel poster designed by Lucien Boucher in 1950 for the airline Air France to promote flights to South America.

French designer, engraver, poster artist and illustrator, Lucien Boucher began in the 1920s to create posters for cinema and advertising. He produced numerous lithographs inspired by surrealism and is mainly known for a series of advertising posters and planispheres produced for Air France.

The surrealist inspiration of the artist is visible on this visual promoting flights to South America. A wing similar to that of Pegasus, bearing the Air France logo itself representing the mythological creature, envelops the South American continent, seeming to overlap its shape. The background is both sky and sea, clouds and waves mingle.
