Legend has it that in 1877, five pairs of curved wooden boards were offered by Norway to the hospice of the Great St. Bernard, in the Swiss Valais. The monks joyfully discovered that they could finally move easily across the snow!

This very old and amusing poster, designed by the painter Albert Muret in 1910, is in exceptional condition. A true rarity and one of the most sought-after and admired depictions of the Swiss Valais.
