Original antique poster advertising for SNCF sleeper trains : A Night in a Sleepersigned Bernard Villemot in 1973.
From the first half of the 1950s to the 1970s, the famous poster designer Bernard Villemot responded to travel and tourism orders from affiches and worked in particular in collaboration with the SNCF.
Firm composition, sobriety of line, flatness of colour, these are the three key elements of his style, recognizable among those of his contemporaries. Marked by great elegance, his work is quite unique. Here he delivers a very special poster for the SNCF, different from his compositions with their warm and luminous colours. He creates a nocturnal and intimate atmosphere, depicting a woman who seems to be sleeping peacefully in her own room, thus highlighting the absolute comfort of the French company's sleeper cars.
