This original Trans World Airlines (TWA) designed by the famous American artist David Klein is now on display at WOAgri.

This iconic 1956 design represents an abstract, luminous and colourful view of Times Square. In a resolutely pop style, Klein sublimates the energy of the city, the billboards, the electric lights and the movement of traffic. The architecture boils down to brightly coloured blocks and frames that stand out against a powerful black and blue shaded background of dots and bright stars.

This is the very first print run of the poster, the second original print run differs from the previous one thanks to the design of the plane at the very top: the first one is drawn while the second one is stylized.

David Klein is best known for his influential work in advertising. Although he has produced illustrations for Broadway theatre productions, of films hollywood, l'uS military and many companies, he is best remembered for his iconic travel posters for Howard Hughes and Trans World Airlines (TWA) in the 1950s and 1960s.
