Doctor Folamour or Dr. Strangelove (1964) is the only comedy ever directed by Stanley Kubrick. With Peter Sellers (who plays three roles), George C. Scott, Sterling Hayden or Tracy Reed, this satirical film is inspired by the thriller 120 minutes to save the world written by Peter George.

The poster, designed by Georges Kerfyser (who created the visuals for Casino Royale, Lawrence of Arabia, Male Female...), offers a particularly interesting composition. Combining black and white and colour, photography and drawing, it is a collage as surreal and humorous as the script. In the center of the war room of the Pentagon, the artist places the mushroom of the nuclear bomb, whose cloud serves as a bed for the very glamorous Miss Scott (the only female character in the film). The mix of styles is completed by the simplistic drawing of the two men from the back to the front whose phones are connected to the central photograph by red cables.

This ensemble, crowned with the unlikely slogan "Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb", perfectly sets the tone of the feature film intended to denounce political and military absurdity.
