This exceptional poster was created to promote the gymnastics competition held in St. Moritz on August 4, 1929, under the auspices of the Kunstturner-Verband (Swiss Artistic Gymnastics Federation). It is a rare visual testimony of the "Propaganda-Wettkämpfe", public demonstration events aimed at promoting physical activity and national cohesion in Switzerland during the interwar years.

Designed by Otto Ernst (1884–1967), a Swiss graphic artist active in the 1920s, this work captures a gymnast in a moment of intense athletic movement on the parallel bars. The composition is strikingly dynamic, with strong light-shadow contrasts and anatomical precision, all in a pared-down background that highlights the body in action. It belongs to the aesthetic of the time: heroic realism, Swiss graphic precision, and echoes of Art Deco.

Printed in St. Moritz by Manatschal Ebner & Co., this lithograph also reflects the context of the 1928 Winter Olympics, held the year before in the same resort, elevating St. Moritz as a symbolic location of Swiss sports and alpine modernity.

Highly sought after by collectors of sports ephemera, Swiss graphic design, and early 20th-century poster art, this rare piece combines historical value, graphic elegance, and authenticity.
