Signed by Louis Icart (1888–1950), this rare post-war travel poster titled “Quelle joie de vivre l’été à Monte-Carlo” (“What Joy to Live the Summer in Monte Carlo”) celebrates the golden age of the French Riviera. Created around 1948 and printed by Imprimerie Monégasque, it perfectly embodies the charm and elegance of seaside leisure in the postwar years.

Two modern young women, relaxed and radiant, enjoy a sun-soaked day near the tennis courts overlooking the Mediterranean. Their graceful figures, bathed in vibrant light, reflect the refined pleasures of Monaco’s summer scene. The artwork’s crisp lines, bold color planes, and decorative rhythm are hallmarks of Icart’s Art Deco style.
