This original travel poster designed by E. Weber in 1946 promotes tourism in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland, and more specifically the practice of winter sports.

The Jungfraubahn, Europe's highest cog railway since 1912, runs here, the highest region in the Canton of Berne and the birthplace of skiing. The summit of the Jungfrau rises to 4158 metres above sea level. Every year in Gadmen you can watch the legendary race of Siberian huskies, Alaskan malamutes, samoyeds and Greenland dogs, and the region is famous for its dog sled rides. It is this activity that is featured on Weber's poster.
