French painter of Italian origin, Louis Bonamici is famous for his panels or oils on canvas depicting seascapes, port scenes, fishing, creeks, Provence... Appointed Navy painter in 1921, he was exhibited throughout his career in the greatest galleries: Moullot in Marseille, Armand Drouant or Georges Petit in Paris or John Levy in New York.

Great name of the Provencal masters of the 20th century with an abundant production, the artist was called to collaborate with the Nice Tourist Office in 1920 for the realization of a tourist promotional poster for PLM. Here he delivers a more decorative and realistic work than his usual style marked by a painting with a knife. We can admire one of the most beautiful views of Nice from the top of the castle hill.
