This original travel poster designed by the Dutch artist Tom Morel de Tanguy around 1910 for PLM (Paris-Lyon-Méditérranée) honours the Côte d'Azur and more particularly the Saint-Raphaël coastline.

The town, which is located at the eastern end of the Gulf of Fréjus, is easily recognizable: its town centre on the coast, its port, the Notre-Dame-de-la-Victoire Basilica... You can also guess the Corniche d'Or, a magnificent road bordered by the turquoise Mediterranean waters and the red rocks of the Estérel massif.

It is possible to recognize the style of the school of Hugo d'Alési in this work: the line is precise, the colours numerous and the rendering faithful to reality. The composition is also based on that of the advertisement made by d'Alesi on the town of Hyères, which can be found at Morel's on the poster for Nice.
