An emblematic figure of the Lake Geneva landscape since its foundation in 1873, the Compagnie Générale de Navigation is, with its 19 boats, the largest navigation company in French-speaking Switzerland and the second largest in the country. As well as being used for public transport and tourist cruises, its boats offer daily cross-border connections, as well as dream cruises between Geneva and Montreux, via Evian and Lausanne.

The Company is as well known for its historic "Belle-Epoque" fleet as it is for its more modern boats. It is one of the latter that can be admired sailing across the waters of Lake Geneva on this poster proposed by the Swiss artist Samuel Henchoz. The drawing is made up of three colours (red, blue, white) and three motifs (the flag that dominates the picture, the boat, the summit of Mont Blanc). Henchoz proves here that a minimalist ensemble is enough to make a poster understandable and striking.
