French draftsman and engraver, Hervé Baille delivered a poster in 1954 commissioned by the French National Railway Company to promote travel on the Côte d'Azur by train.

Under a smiling sun, we can admire a postcard scene. The crowd is having fun on the beach while in the foreground a young sculptural woman is bronze near a palm tree. The atmosphere is warm and the mood is holiday-like.

Baille began his career as a poster artist in the 1940s after illustrating projects for the Air France airline. A Navy painter in 1947, he was also a member of the Comité des Dessinateurs Humoristes, exhibited at the Salon des Humoristes and appeared in numerous fantasy art exhibitions.
