James Bond 007 versus Dr. No is a British film directed by Terence Young and released in 1962 in the United Kingdom. It is the first in a series of films based on the novels of Ian Fleming. Produced on a modest budget, the film introduced Sean Connery, who played James Bond for the first time, and also Ursula Andress, winner of the Golden Globe for Best Newcomer of the Year in 1964.

For United Artists, Boris Grinsson designed the posters of James Bond v. Dr. No and Good Kisses from Russiaamong the most wanted. This is a perfect illustration of the shift in Grinsson's style towards simpler and more stripped-down graphics. Through geometrical lines, colour ranges, plays on lighting and silhouettes, he turns towards symbolic compositions influenced by abstraction.

Here, the soon-to-be-famous James Bond girls who will make the visual identity of the posters for much of the following opus are barely suggested by their faces, and the action scenes on the right take only the form of quick sketches.
