"There's the cinema before Godard and the cinema after Godard. Breathless is the masterpiece that launched Godard's career and changed the face of cinema." François Truffaut

"When I turned Breathless, I thought I was doing something very specific. I was directing a thriller, a gangster movie. When I first saw it, I realized I was doing something completely different..."
Jean-Luc Godard

Breathless is a pastiche of the film noir, a slap in the face to Hollywood conventions: written by his friend François Truffaut, freely inspired by a news item, this first feature film by Jean-Luc Godard makes the effect of an aesthetic bomb in French cinema. Shot in natural light, camera on the shoulder, documentary aspect... the Nouvelle Vague is being born.
The original French poster of 1960 called "du baiser" is probably the most sought-after poster of the New Wave. This A model is a montage made by Clément Hurel from the filming photographs of Raoul Coutard. A true reference in the field of posters, Hurel stages the dazzling alchemy of the Seberg-Belmondo duo.
