Original poster of the Franco-Italian film The Samurai directed by Jean-Pierre Melville in 1967, designed by Ferracci.

René Ferracci is the author of masterpieces that illustrate masterpieces. Many of the successes of French cinema launched by his posters: one can for example evoke the greatest films of Bunuel, Losey, Truffaut, Tati, or Louis Malle.

For more than thirty years, Ferracci did not give up the tradition of drawing but participated in the great transformation of the printing industry. New techniques were developed, it was transformed by the arrival of offset printing, which introduced the arrival of photography in the cinema poster. That of the SamuraiThe perfect example of this is a thriller directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. In his very particular unity of style, Ferracci delivers here a hypnotic, icy, impenetrable portrait of Alain Delon, a mirror of his character's loneliness.
