"A tragic love story in a wonderful setting; a wonderful love story in a tragic setting"...
Franco-Italian director and pillar of Jean-Luc Godard's filmography, Contempt (1963) is inspired by the eponymous novel Alberto Moravia (1954).

Brigitte Bardot, Michel Piccoli and Jack Palance and share the poster for the cult feature film of the New Wave, respectively in the roles of Camille and Paul Javal and Jeremy Prokosch, alongside Fritz Lang in his own role. Shot in Technicolor, this critical fiction devoted to the cinema itself tells the story of a couple on the verge of breaking up. Georges Delerue signs one of his best-known scores.

At the center of one of the most beautiful creations of the poster designer G. Allard, the fatal beauty of Brigitte Bardot, whose realistic and disturbing portrait plunges her gaze into that of the spectator.

Gilbert Allard, sometimes cited as Georges Allard, is a French painter and poster artist whose major work for the cinema was between the 1940s and 1960s. He is the author of about a hundred posters, including the famous Orfeu Negro, The Great Escape, The Warrior's Rest, The Cincinnati Kid
