In 1965, Jean-Luc Godard directed his tenth feature film and perhaps his most famous film, Pierrot le fou which he himself called "a film about life" when Louis Aragon said it was "superhumanly beautiful". In the casting, Jean-Paul Belmondo in the role of Ferdinand and Anna Karina in the role of Marianne: perhaps one of the most beautiful screen encounters of the 1960s in the most cult road movie of the New Wave where Godart finds the theme of the betrayal of the beloved woman already seen in Breathless.

On the poster, we find the three primary colours, yellow, red and especially blue, which will be present throughout the film. They punctuate it from beginning to end, from Paris to the Mediterranean, from love to death. The collage formed by the two intertwined scenes reveals the key images of the plot, the outcome of the passion and the flight of the two lovers.

Painted in blue, Belmondo's face replaces the sky on a poster in the image of the film: romantic and solar.

This masterpiece of the cinema has many references to literature (Rimbaud, Céline, Balzac...), music (Beethoven), cinema (Johnny Guitar...), and above all to painting, which plays a primordial role (Van Gogh, Picasso, Magritte, Renoir...).
