This original 1947 poster by René Magritte was created for the inaugural World Festival of Film and Fine Arts, held in Brussels from June 1st to 30th. At a pivotal moment in post-war Europe, the festival aimed to reconnect disciplines through a visionary dialogue between cinema and the visual arts. Naturally, the organizers turned to Magritte, the master of Belgian surrealism.

At the center of the poster stands a classical female bust, its face replaced by a blank screen, a striking metaphor for film projection and the reconstruction of vision. Framed by vibrant red curtains and a bold graphic layout, the image blends theatricality and mystery in a way only Magritte could.

More than a poster, this is a collectible piece of cultural history—a rare glimpse into Magritte’s post-war "sunlit period" and an homage to the merging of art forms.
