In 1955, as Walt Disney opened his very first theme park in Anaheim, California, the airline TWA—then led by film and aviation mogul Howard Hughes—became one of its key partners. TWA notably sponsored the Moonliner, the iconic rocket featured in the Rocket to the Moon attraction in Tomorrowland.

This groundbreaking collaboration merged futuristic imagination, family entertainment, and the booming aviation industry—capturing the spirit of an optimistic America looking toward the future. In this context, David Klein, TWA’s in-house artist, created a series of posters promoting Disneyland as an air travel destination, echoing the era’s ambition to conquer both the skies and the imagination.
