Original poster from 1920 by Mich representing the efficiency of a Mabille wine press to denounce the fiscal pressure.

The Mabille house is known for its presses for the production of cognac. Around 1920, the producer called on Michel Liebeaux, known as Mich, to create a poster which was both controversial and humorous. As well as highlighting the efficiency of the House's presses, it denounced the excessive taxation which weighed on alcohol producers at the time.

The press here does not contain the must of reason necessary to the manufacture of the beverage but the craftsmen. The action is carried out by the tax collector and his mischievous-looking assistant and the slogan "dries quickly and completely" sets the tone.

Cartoonist, poster artist and French advertising designer, Mich's style is recognizable by his sharp and evocative messages.
